The Art of René Campbell

Artist(s) Drawing
The general art blog of René Campbell, a 20 year-old female currently residing in a little city in South Australia called Adelaide. I study Marine Biology by day, work as a bartender by night, and draw everywhere and anywhere inbetween!

I post my finished pieces of artwork and drawings, sketches, works in progress, photography and thoughts. I will also tend to reblog things that inspire me or what I enjoy. If you want to see nothing but my artwork, you can find it here or through the links below.
NOTE: I do not take commissions at this time and most certainly do not take art requests. Thankyou.

For those of you who don’t know what I’m working with, it’s 4000 pixels wide at 300dpi.Be done in 10 years guiz.
Good to be back with my tablet!
Wings can go last, because wings. Skyrim WIP.
Just another Dragon WIP. An his claw feels really close to my face, like I’m about to lose an eye. I think it’s a good thing.
Btw guys, I’m 20 followers from my next goal! Exciting timez!
Slowly going through the chest and then the wing :3
So as I continued to draw, it suddenly hit me that I’ve been referencing a Frost Dragon.
And there’s flames in the background.
All good, I’ll add warmer hues and change a few things after this stage, and that should do it.
So now I can gladly say the head and neck are done about 80% done each!
Skyrim Dragons are working class heroes.
Everytime I post a WIP shot, there’s so little change.
Oh god this is going to take forever.
So I was doing the neck and then I thought: "Imagine if you could ride Dragons whenever you wanted in Skyrim!"
If rendering and detailing hasn’t officially begun, I’mma hate it when it does.
Beginning to add the colours and basic highlights/shadows. After that’s done, then comes the real shading, rendering, detailing and texturing.
Edited various mistakes; looks much better now. Bare in mind I haven’t started shading, colouring or rendering, even for the most of the background.
So here’s another sketch of the two main characters. I found a good reference of a Frost Dragon, so I scrapped Alduin, as the background no longer seemed fitting (and he lacks good references).
I am aware there’s something wrong with the composition, but I can’t quite figure it out. Critiques/ideas/suggestions would be appreciated!
How about we jazz it up a bit? In Skyrim, where’s there’s flames, there’s a Dragon.
I’ve just made it that much harder for myself come rendering time.
